As one of al-Qaeda’s most respected bomb-makers, Aimen Dean rubbed shoulders with the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks and swore allegiance to Osama bin Laden himself. After four years in service to the wrong side, Aimen began working for MI6 for eight years trying to take the al-Qaeda down from the inside. Aimen is currently a consultant on issues of terrorism and author of, Nine Lives: My Time As MI6's Top Spy Inside al-Qaeda.

Originally from California, Thomas Small was training to be a monk on Mount Athos when he instead decided to spend several years travelling the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. Fluent in Arabic, he lived in Damascus for a year while earning a first-class degree in Arabic & Islamic Studies from SOAS. Now an author and filmmaker based in London, Thomas co-produced the feature documentary Path of Blood, and co-authored the book of the same name.

Before founding Message Heard, award-winning journalist Jake Warren worked with VICE, BBC, Channel 4 and The Guardian. He recently helped found and grow The Tab, the largest online student publication in the world, and introduced original programming to media giants Jungle Creations. Jake is now totally focused on the world of podcasts.
